This is a photo of Jupiter that I took with my phone next to a cool little "eco-dome" that I stayed in while visiting Joshua Tree National Park in California.
I took this photo walking along Glenn Street in Tucson, Arizona.
Picture of our fire two summers ago on vacation:
ForgottenBeauty Could you try re-uploading that photo? Imgur says it's been deleted.
Tristandecuhna Very nice! What sort of equipment did you use to capture that?
I have taken this photo with a Canon 1100D in Normandy.
Tristandecuhna Which lens though?
London plane tree leaves outlined by a street lamp, Providence, Rhode Island
Mount Seymour That is the best image that I have seen in this category so far! Great work!
Turbeaux I took that photo a couple months ago after coming home from a trip. It was around midnight when we got in, and while I was helping to unpack the car, I noticed the way the street lamp was outlining the london plane right in front of our house. I promptly abandoned all unpacking efforts and ran to find a tripod. ?
Mount Seymour When you find the right moment, you just have to shoot! Being in the right place at the right time is very important!

1/11 - A PULLED SHUTTER SHOT OF THE SINGAPORE FLYER. MARINA BAY, SINGAPORE.
The revolving colours are something that we have all seen and heard of for a huge Ferris wheel, but with a combination of a tripod and slow shutter speeds, I was able to capture this rather bizarre and surreal photo. This has not been edited in any way (apart from light corrections) and instead, is a method whereby while the camera’s shutter is open, I was slowly pulling in (or out) the focal length.
Shot with Nikon D5100.
Lens: 18-55mm @ f/3.5-5.6
Aperture: f/13.0 (but variable)
Focal Length: Initially 18.0 mm, final at 52.0 mm
Shutter Speed: 5 sec
ISO: 500

2/11 - A SHOT OF GARDENS BY THE BAY DURING ITS MANY REGULAR NIGHTLY LIGHT SHOWS. MARINA BAY, SINGAPORE.
While these man-made trees are already pretty impressive feats of engineering and design by day, it never ceases to amaze and surprise tourists and locals alike with its attractive lights accompanied by upbeat music. Thousands of people whip out their smartphones and start snapping these majestic and lighted up trees, as well as amateurs and professional photographers alike taking that perfect shot.
Shot with Nikon D5100.
Lens: 18-55mm @ f/3.5-5.6
Aperture: f/6.3
Focal Length: 18.0 mm
Shutter Speed: 1/6 sec
ISO: 1600

3 / 11 - PORTAL INTO THE FUTURE. CITY HALL / MARINA BAY AREA, SINGAPORE.
Obsessed with that technique I used on the Singapore Flyer, I figured that I might as well give it a try on a few other elements around, such as the shot of a city. Instead of clarity, I went with more… surreal theme, and I am at this point sounding like an art student despite my incompetence in art and drawing. ? Step into the future, my friends!
Shot with Nikon D5100.
Lens: 18-55mm @ f/3.5-5.6
Aperture: f/22.0 (variable)
Focal Length: Initially 18.0 mm, finally at 55.0 mm
Shutter Speed: 5 sec
ISO: 100

4 / 11 - THAT BOAT’S SHOOTING LASERS! MARINA BAY SANDS, SINGAPORE.
Also known as the place that is very very common for tourists to take photos of, as well as for amateurs and professionals alike. Around 9 PM at almost every night, it will shoot out lasers and have a water-based show for everyone to enjoy. It’s free!
Shot with Nikon D5100.
Lens: 18-55mm @ f/3.5-5.6
Aperture: f/5.3
Focal Length: 44.0 mm
Shutter Speed: 0.4 sec
ISO: 500

5 / 11 - “FROZEN” RIVER. HARBORFRONT/VIVOCITY, SINGAPORE.
There are many things that we might have not seen or imagined without the usage of slow shutter speeds, and a good tripod. And my tripod just broke, so I might not be able to take photos like these for the time being. It looks like you can skate from where I am taking the shot, to the other side of the river.
Shot with Nikon D5100.
Lens: 18-55mm @ f/3.5-5.6
Aperture: f/32.0
Focal Length: 44.0 mm
Shutter Speed: 17 sec
ISO: 250

6 / 11 - CITY SKYLINE, SINGAPORE.
Compared to the post-WWII era and the 1960s to 1980s… to the present day, you can definitely tell that Singapore has underwent a huge change. The Little Red Dot that became a front for international trade, as well as for diplomacy, and most importantly, tourism and a city that nearly never sleeps (the title of “city that never sleeps” goes to New York). What is Singapore’s secret, really?
Shot with Nikon D5100.
Lens: 18-55mm @ f/3.5-5.6
Aperture: f/10.0
Focal Length: 18.0 mm
Shutter Speed: 1/4 sec
ISO: 400
I figured that I would post every category's photo into one post (with photo numbers) so as to reduce spam. I hope it's all right!
