I'm starting this thread for WA news and discussion that isn't discussion of a particular proposal. It's not just for me, anybody is encouraged to contribute.

First up, Wallenburg has gone ahead and submitted the first attempt at replacing the recently repealed Freedom of Expression. I guess they think they need to get in early with multiple drafts in progress. It might have had some potential in time but it's very far from ready. Wallenburg is hard to work with in drafting. They write in ambiguous and grammatically dodgy sentences and make testy comments about reading comprehension if you ask for clarification.

I'd said that I thought United Massechusets attempt dead in water but it's back and the second draft looks like it's getting somewhere.

From a Ransium-centric perspective, I’m planning on submitting my proposal on uniform marking if hazardous materials in the next month or two. I’ve been thinking of commending Caracasus for a long while and I may again take that up as my next project.

Good stuff! I am wondering Ransium if it might be worth sticking this up on the rMB. Could garner some interesting feedback and might remind folks that the WA is something people can participate in.

TL;DR: Boston was raided by a bunch of Nazi/Fascist/outcast raider groups who thought it would be a good idea to get together and be even more internationally reviled. Then they piled endorsements on their raid to high heavens, and defenders (through lack of numbers/activity) have been unable to liberate it.

Mount Seymour Well if it's fascists I think that it will pass. Nobody likes fascists... not even other fascists when you scan their RMB.

Still, no need for complacency. Lord Dominator was updating SC stuff I think but that doesn't mean that you or I can't stick it up on the RMB closer to the time.

Mount Seymour The current delegate has 47 endorsements. Given the strong anti-Kaiserreich stance recently taken and the anti-fascist enthusiasm of most of the Pacifics, plus dedicated anti-fascist organisations, I'm a bit surprised that it can't be forcibly retaken. Still, gameplay isn't my area of expertise. Full support for the liberation.

Would someone please outline how a WA proposal gets added to the delegate voting queue?

Turbeaux If you are asking for the procedure, it is just that if you are a WA member with two endorsements, you can submit a proposal. The proposal is marked illegal or legal based on whether it follows the rules of the committee it is submitted in.
The Delegates approve it once it has been submitted regardless of its legality. If your proposal gets 6% of the WA Delegate approvals within 72 hours, it enters the voting floor in the following update. Hope I could help!

It looks like "Child Privacy Act" will not be getting a vote. I am glad because it is rather sloppily written.

Due to a holiday I'm going to be much less active over the next 2 weeks and probably absent from the WA altogether. It's quiet in the General Assembly, though the debate on freedom of expression rumbles on. As of yesterday's revision I think I could endorse United Massachusetts' draft proposal. It's not everything I'd like it to be, but it's now a workable compromise.

I've given Aclion/Areulder permission to take our draft on organisational free expression forward if it's in danger of being overtaken by a rival proposal. (Is gazumping a word outside the UK?)

Check this out for batshit crazy proposal of the month - sadly we won't get to vote because it's so illegal.

Uan-aa-Boa That is pretty crazy! I would never try submitting something that overreaching. The scary thing is that is where many Republicans would like to see the US go.

I'm not planning on getting heavily involved from my sun lounger, but I see the ever lovable Imperium Anglorum has submitted a barrage of repeals. Among the targets are most of the good resolutions that have passed lately. Given that IA could submit his shopping list and get it to quorum based on reputation these will probably all reach a vote. First up will be the resolution on stolen cultural artefacts. IA's sole argument here is that banning an invading army from looting for profit would make it more likely to destroy stuff instead.

Except false alarm... apparently IA had been making enquiries about the legality of dumping multiple repeals before departing for a vacation. I don't know whether he campaigned for them or whether there was counter-campaigning, or indeed whether they were withdrawn or simply failed to reach quorum.
