Ransium Liking the wooly jumpers! Ransium, do you have any handy repositories of data/arguments/debunking regarding climate change denial? Don't worry if you don't I just wondered if there were some handy ones for us non scientists to deploy. I don't plan to get too involved in arguing the toss on the science but might be nice to have in reserve in case someone puts forward an argument based on climete change.

@Ransium, you're doing a great service to the WA by giving its more, erm, enlightened members something to sustain their ire once the capital punishment debate draws to a close. I was pretty traumatised to find myself agreeing with both Auralia and Jocospor yesterday, so I could do with a topic to restore the normal state of affairs.

Seriously, though, I think the new draft is looking pretty damn good. I hope reasonable people can get behind it as a solid climate change measure rather than splitting hairs on what their personal optimum solution would look like.

The jumpers are fun, but wouldn't the requirement to enact tariffs avoid the proposal being committee only?

Uan-aa-Boa It was IA's concern. Honestly, I haven't spent enough time delving into the hair splitting of WA rules to have an informed opinion. Besides Turbeaux .wanted me to have some whimsy without altering anything functional and this was the best way I could come up with. I've come bit attached to it to be honest

I'm contacting you today to ask for your support of my World Assembly General Assembly resolution "Greenhouse Gas Cap and Trade Program" LINK

Global warming is, in my opinion, one of the greatest threats we face, and to do nothing is the height of folly. For 10+ years I have waited in vain for quality greenhouse gas WA legislation to be crafted. I finally have decided it can wait no more. There were numerous challenges to putting together a proposal that would be legal, politically palatable, and effective. It took the careful thought and input from many nations, but I think you'll agree the end product is worthwhile. Please give it a read over and consider approving and supporting it LINK.

By the way, I do want to acknowledge that some will disagree with the basic premise of this proposal, that greenhouse gasses are a problem. I only ask respectful debate from you if this is the case.

on this point, it looks like you've given an 'out' in the proposal for nations which live in an environment where greenhouse gas emissions, for whatever reason, are not a potential problem. You should highlight that in your campaign.

Looks good. Though the plural of gas is usually gases. Gasses would be a form of the verb 'to gas'.

Looks good. I am unsure about the last paragraph myself. I would be tempted at this stage, and with the massive weight of scientific evidence, to simply not acknolwledge the denial argument in the same way I would not acknowledge flat earthers if my resolution concerned orbital technology.

I'd agree with Caracasus there. You're not going to win the votes of deniers whatever you do, and on the gameside forum you said you didn't want to debate with deniers. Consistency is probably a good thing. You're also, in my view, wise not to expend too much energy on engaging with FT-Wank. Keep it simple.
