Inaugural Forestian Chess Championships

What is this?
The Forestian Chess Championships is an regional correspondence chess tournament in its first edition. The idea was introduced to the RMB previously to an overall good reception, and is being run as a nation V nation cup tournament, with light, optional RPing involved.
What will I have to do?
If you signup, you should complete one correspondence chess game against a predetermined opposition every 2 weeks. Ideally, you could include some IC information about your player, but this is in no way compulsory.
When does this take place?
What format is this?
Games will be held as correspondence chess with timings of 2 days per move. As we want to keep this tournament moving forward, games that have not ended within the allocated 2 weeks per match will have the game awarded to the player with a material advantage.
The overall tournament format of progressions will entirely depend on signups, but ideally it will comprise of a series of knockout stages, giving eliminated players from the first round another chance to progress.
How can I signup?
Simply post ‘I sign up’ or similar on this thread, or telegram Garbelia with your signup.
You are welcome to include as much, or as little IC information about your competitor as you want, but please include a name for the benefit of your opponents.
When will the tournament take place?
Signups will close on the 20th March 2021, and each game can be completed at any time during the next two weeks, using the steps below. The draw for the next round will take place the day after the period ends, and the next round will begin the day after.
This means that a tournament comprising of 5 rounds would run from 20th March to 3rd June.
Do I have to roleplay?
No, roleplaying is not compulsory, but ideally you should have a player name in your signup.

That is alright. Just send your signups and roleplays to Garbelia by telegram, and you will be able to participate.
How do I play via the internet?
This is mostly player-to-player preference, but I would recommend lichess. If you wish to play on another platform, you are welcome to sort details out with your opponent.
If you are using lichess, the player listed first in the fixtures should go to the main page and press the ‘Play with a friend’ button to the side, and open the dropdown menu entitled ‘Time Control’, and select the correspondence option, setting the slider that will appear to ‘Two days’. Then, click the middle button at the bottom with a king that is half-black and half-white. That will send you to a page with some text and a link to copy. Copy this link and send it via your preferred method of communication to your opponent. When they click on the link, the game will begin. When the game is over, send the link on to Garbelia via telegram or private communication on the forest forums for result verification.
If you wish to play using any variation on this, please notify the opposition beforehand.
