Campaign:
Forest is a region of strong personalities. This is the secret power, the special sauce if you will which makes Forest one of the best regions in nationstates. Our opinions and political beliefs are strong, and our interpersonal beliefs are even stronger. We run our region with professionalism, that reminds me of a real organization.
When the new Forest Keeper is elected, there will be space and opportunity for those strong personalities to seek out evolution in Forest. A transition of leadership in a region with such diverse talent requires an individual who understands the multifaceted nature of our community. They should be open to respond to concerns, inquiries, and suggestions while being able to produce nuanced policy which retains the essence of what of what it means to be Forestian. In this way, one of the great strengths I would bring to this position is my Emotional Intelligence; The ability to individualize my approaches and responses to the community.
To me, being a forestian means being a cut above the cloth. We do not desire to have a region of quality to boast or look down on others. We have a desire to have a region of quality because our citizens have the constant need and drive to deliver quality. Each nation in Forest I have had the pleasure of interacting with exhibits this quality in some way. In turn the government that I help manage will continue to encourage and reflect that fact.
Question for all candidates: how do you plan on balancing RL with the unpredictable time commitments of being FK?
I work a very flexible job where 99.9% of the time I am not doing anything. Luckilly, I can access and post while at work with no issues. Believe it or not, I am using nationstates as part of career/leadership development at work in addition so its also actually a valuable part of my career framework.
I’m not in school or anything like that, and have a settled home life with no children.
And while If elected I currently would plan to run for a full term the current expected term of forest keeper is 3 months. Thats not a very large committment comparatively
My questions to all of the candidates are:
Are you planning to reinstate all of the non-Forestkeeper officials of the last government (except the ambassadorship of Palos Heights and yourself if you had one)?
If not, why not?
Can you forsee any circumstances arising that may force you to resign? (Forsee is the key word here, obviously random tragedies can occur to anybody.)
Would you support a constitutional amendment to maintain continuity elsewhere in the government if a Forestkeeper resigns early?
1) Yes, everyone will keep their position and I will certainly hope to add more. I will however, expect the ministers to discuss with me how things are going and to be open to a change in direction if thats needed. I think there is a lot of untapped potential and a lack of visibility.
2) I don’t see any reason that would have me resigning before the term is up.
3) I agree that its been a painful transition due to this issue in the constitution. I would be in favor of such an amendment, but there would still need to be checks and balances. Mainly, ministers should be acting only within duties that are integral to maintaining the region and its perception to our allies. Otherwise, their actions could be an extention of a resigned policy maker.
- What experience do you have in managing and leading teams?
Currently that is mostly reflective in my work as I lead/train a team of interns on various IT platforms. I also have been serving as cultural minister which has required I exhibit a type of leadership to those who inquire through me.
- What plans do you have for Forest moving forward?
I will encourage more events, hoping to have varied events more frequently which engage many different types of people. I will propose several amendments to the constitution that the public is requesting and work to deliver a more transparent government.I also believe in recognition and will create awards for service to the region hopefully to inspire nations to give better and give more. Finally, I will work with the other candidates for forest keeper to roll out some of their ideas for evolving forest to ensure they are implemented effectively. Several have very good ideas for the direction of the region.
- Where do you see Forest at the end of your term as Forest Keeper?
I see Forest tapping into a lot of potential that currently is not being utilized. I see it becoming a Region full of excitement where people want to spend more time here. To be specific, I think we can achieve this without losing what makes Forest Forest.
- How will you increase regional involvement to include more Forestians aside from the regulars?
Forest can be intimidating. There are a lot of smart people here with a lot to say and it can feel hard to jump in. I like montmorencia’s mentorship program but considering we didn’t have a lot of buy in to be ambassadors and thats very similar the key to being successful in forest is buy in and to get that you have to have more than a great idea you have to understand how to engage people and what they care about as well as what makes the community tick.
- Why do you want to be Forest Keeper?
I want to be Forest Keeper because I believe I can bring a fresh perspective to the government and to forest which will benefit long time members and potential new residents alike. I am ambitious and driven but I desire to be open and transparent about my direction. In this way, trust with the nations of Forest will be one of my top concerns.
- What are your plans for the Minister positions?
I want to keep the current minister positions, though I will request a current understanding of duties from each member. This is to ensure they are getting the support they made need as well as making sure the position is being utilized effectively. With my goal of transparency, I will encourage ministers to be more consistently engaged with the community and explain what they have been doing as well.
I plan to hopefully add more minister position as well, mainly focusing on new projects and making sure its transparent those who have government influence and privilege. As I understand it, we could benefit from new approaches concerning ambassadorships and recruitment.
